Dashers who take worked winters where the weather tin can become bad, how has that affected business? Tips?

I haven't worked a wintertime still but, I'm assuming it gets busier in Winter simply because less people want to get out in the snow/cold. Is this generally the case? Exercise y'all notice an increase in tips at all?

level one

I've noticed bad weather doesn't seem to increase tips in my area, information technology simply makes customers upset that it took you lot longer.

level two

And they give bad ratings. Like no shit information technology took longer than usually at that place's a blizzard out here lol.

level i

Never had a increase in tips. I also had an blow in the winter so I would say depending on how bad it is sometimes its not worth it.

level ii

That sucks. Sorry almost your blow. Yeah, I recollect I might simply stick to the days where I would simply have to bargain with cold weather rather than dashing while information technology's snowing....like you said- it'southward probably not worth the take chances.

level 1

Coming from pizza commitment I can say orders are increased but tips actually turn down considering they still hold you accountable for being late, even with snowfall on the basis.
Only don't piece of work snow, information technology's literally not worth it. Are the tips going to exist worth more than your car if you total information technology?

level 2

Y'all are exactly correct. That's why the concluding big snowfall storm we got I didn't deliver even though doordash was offering $half-dozen/delivery bonus. Wasn't worth risking my car or my safety. Also I talked to restaurants a couple days latter and they said deliveries were sitting for 1-ii hours! Customers were calling pissed. So no incertitude people would've been 1-star-ing drivers who did evangelize.

level 1

Thank god winter conditions basically doesn't exist in California, people bulldoze bad enough with sunny conditions. Can't imagine what information technology would be similar to drive in extremely cold weather.

level 2

I'm then jealous! I hate winters hither (Minne-snow-ta). Simply I'm merely hoping that maybe the cold volition keep the dashing gig hot here since most people don't similar to go exterior when it's besides common cold. Guess I'll notice out soon enough...

level 2

Those little sprinkles last week and it was carmageddon on the 210.

level two

California resident, tin confirm not having to deal with extreme weather is squeamish. Still, I think it makes information technology worse when atmospheric condition is more intense. I about had someone drive into my car while I was at a lite considering the rain was and so heavy, you could barely encounter fifty-fifty the headlights. Barely, merely still doable. I had to honk at them to go them to turn abroad from me.

level 2

It exists all over Cali. you lot just take to be in the right locations. California ≠ LA

level ane

Wintertime brings more of everything....

  • more orders

  • more complaints (late, COLD food)

  • more than traffic

  • more difficulty seeing addresses

  • more negative ratings/feedback

  • EXCEPT, More than TIPS (MONEY)

level 1

Winter is great for business, but I refuse to piece of work when it's snowing. It'southward just not worth it. You don't see a noticeable increase in turn a profit and information technology'southward unnecessarily stressful imo.

level i

improve ways to make coin in the winter than commitment. Pray for a lot of snowfall because that's a nice gig with a truck and a plough.

level 1

Welcome to Canada. I am not dashing in the winter

level ane

last winter in my area Columbus Ohio it was a different pay model. so the money was simply better, but I don't experience similar people tip more maybe they did on the app , merely we all know nearly doordash and tips;-) ;-)

level i

Definitely more orders, and usually increased bonuses during snow.

level one

I program on working the the shittiest weather for good tips

level 1

Every winter volition exist busyier than the terminal becouse peaple get lazier imean hucked on conveiance also dd and other delivery accept some fair weather drivers .i can tell past the coin if they have tipped much easier to decline a crappy order in winter. Too helps to know streets in area there are places i wont go to becouse i know traffic is evan worse in winter

level ane

The apps just need to increase the tips during snowfall. So the minimum tips should just get upwards. And it should force a minimum tip as well.
